Professional Background

Dr. Wyleia Miller has more than 20 years of experience in community organizing, nonprofit management, and policy improvement initiatives. She serves as an adjunct professor within the Master of Arts in Leadership program. Her dedication to making a difference in the lives of others has proven beneficial in government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and educational institutions. Her professional and volunteer work continues to afford her opportunities to collaborate with local, state, and federal government officials on socio-economic development initiatives.

Dr. Miller is an administrator by trade and is also the owner of Wyleia Vision, LLC, a professional administrative consulting firm. Before going into academia, Dr. Miller worked overseas for several years as a supply chain manager; supervisor for housing and urban development programs, paralegal, grant writer and reviewer; and administrative auditor. Her experiences also include disaster relief work in the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Haiti, Jamaica, and several countries on the Continent of Africa.

She has worked on research projects that include a comparative administration study in Budapest, Hungary. Dr. Miller is also a former Lead Researcher for a mental health study for a county jail system in North Carolina.
