Frequently Asked Questions

Will any closures from COVID-19 impact the upcoming start dates for my online program?

No. One of the benefits of online programs is that they are thoughtfully designed with remote students and faculty in mind. All online courses will still begin on their scheduled start dates and are not impacted by the coronavirus.

Should I expect more limited availability from admissions advisors, faculty, or course delivery?

No. We are here to support you with our normal availability. For prospective students interested in enrolling in an online graduate program, you are welcome to discuss your options with an Enrollment Advisor via email, phone, text message or website chat. We encourage prospective students to use our contact form and schedule an appointment on the next page at a time that is convenient for you. For current students, we fully expect that you will have normal access to faculty and course materials.

Sports journalism, like all journalism, relies on the fundamental skills of developing sources, writing or broadcasting engaging stories based on a wealth of reporting. In the SBU sports master's programs, those key areas will be addressed and highlighted.
