Amy Moritz
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Professor Moritz is a Professional in Residence in Sports Media within the St. Bonaventure Jandoli School of Communication and teaches courses in sports communication and sports writing.
Professor Moritz is recognized for her many achievements and awards in sports reporting. Moritz awards include the John. A Domino Award from St. Bonaventure, for excellence in the Field of Sports Journalism in 2013, two distinguished awards for National Girls and Women in Sports Day from both the University at Buffalo (2011) and St. Bonaventure University (2003), and the Buffalo State College Ralph G. Hubble Award for Outstanding Reporting of College Athletics in 2003.
Within her time at St. Bonaventure as a student, she served as the manager for the St. Bonaventure women’s basketball team from 1991-1995. After college, Moritz spent twenty plus years as a sportswriter at The Buffalo News as well as The Olean Times Herald. She also spent some time as a Public Relations Manager at the Martin Group.
In her spare time, Professor Moritz is an avid runner, cyclist, and hike. She is also a member of the Buffalo Leadership Board of the American Lung Association. Her current interest and research are in Jandoli Women in Sports Media.
