Rebecca G. Scherer
Professional Profile
Dr. Rebecca Scherer has been a counselor educator since 2014. She has worked in graduate counseling programs on campus and online, with research interests spanning multicultural counseling, mentorship in counselor education, and supervision. She has presented internationally, nationally, regionally, and locally on these topics and has several publications specific to counselor education. In addition, Dr. Scherer has a small private practice where she specializes in animal-assisted therapy.
Dr. Scherer received her Master’s in Community Mental Health from Marymount University and her Doctorate in Counseling at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Approved Clinical Supervisor. She has worked with a broad clientele from children to seniors doing individual, family, couples, and group work, and in the community collaborating with other agencies to protect, support, and advocate for clients, and provide psychoeducation and training to different community entities.
